A Celebration of Motherhood

Last Sunday, a client session was rescheduled due to 40mph winds so I found myself with a few unexpected “free” hours. I’ve wanted to have some photographs taken of just me with my babies but, if we’re being completely honest, I’m not comfortable in front of the camera right now. Having had three babies in four years (and eating anything I wanted during each of those pregnancies), I’m up at least 20 pounds. But babies aren’t babies for long. Time goes by faster with each one.

So Sunday afternoon, I set up my stuff, metered my light, and handed my camera to my husband. The images he captured in our ten minute shoot, I will treasure for a lifetime. Every one of these photos so thoroughly exhibits the personality of each of my three children and my interactions with them, that I can’t help but share them here. My first born is such a sweet and joyful little soul. My second is my wild and crazy spitfire who gives a wicked mean hug. And my little man, well, he’ll always be his momma’s baaaaaaby.

I know these photos will never mean much to anyone but me, but they are just my little way of celebrating motherhood…the greatest job in the world.
